I bought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter, and she is thrilled with it. It takes great pictures and is easy to use. She wants to be a photographer, so it is a good start with a quality point and shoot before we spend the big bucks on a more professional quality one.

It’s not at all good. From the zoom side, sound keeps on coming… It is getting zoomed in and out constantly… Sounds makes us more irritated… I am looking for changing this product.

Seemed like a great little camera for 2 weeks until my wife kept it in her purse during a 2 day trip.. The digital screen cracked and according to the Best Buy salesman it would cost about the same to repair it as to buy a new one–ie we are out $200 because mild pressure on the screen inside a purse cracked it—a little hard to believe but nothing we can do about it. Had no real chance to evaluate it.

Purchased this camera in February. It worked fine until June. Then the LCD became unusable overnight. Sent the camera to the Nikon repair service. They said the LCD was cracked, and this problem is not covered by the warranty. The price they quoted for repair was over $100 including shipping. There was no reason the LCD should have cracked. This had to be a defective camera. The camera now sits on a shelf in my garage together with two spare batteries and a worthless Nikon leather case as a reminder to me that I not buy another Nikon camera.

The Canon SD1200 is a sleek high powered pocket camera, that can go anywhere and still take great pictures day or night. It’s not complicated to operate and yet if you so desire you can use the camera’s manual mode. The lens is a Canon, therefore you can rely on it’s quality. I’ve owned a series of other digitals, but I keep going back to the Canon. This is my third purchase in the SD Series and would definitely recommend this or any Canon Camera. The only downside is the 3x Zoom, that should be higher, and that is why I give it a 4.5 out of 5.
