Highlight areas all over exposed. Sub par color saturation/balance and contrast lead to flat looking images in what should be great lighting situations. Disappointed -bought and returned.

I received this three days ago and have used it ever since! I LOVE IT!!! It is by far excellent quality HD still pictures. It is simple to use and provides professional quality pictures. I am still trying to figure out the video and other features of he camera; but it’s fairly straight forward to use just out of the box! BUY THIS CAMERA, YOU WILL BE PLEASED AT THE RESULTS!!!!

I have a trip planned to the Holy Land and wanted a camera with good zoom. I believe this will handle my needs but can report more after this trip.
As of now, the only change I could suggest is some way to make a more sturdy lens cover or one that could be attached to some type cord. This may be the first thing I loose.

I purchased the SX20 last week and was shocked to find out it had no paper advanced instruction manual – just a CDrom. I love my instruction books and usually carry these with me always with my camera. I have had a few Canon and have always been happy with their products. I am not much of a computer person – just transfer my pictures to my I-Photo on my Mack for printing. I may return this product only because of the lack of a manual.

I just traded in my Kodak V550 to get serious about learning how to take great photos, and I am so glad I did. I did a lot of research to try and find a camera that I could learn from and still took great photos, and the SX20 IS was the winner, even though I really wanted a DSLR. I made a great choice! I’m still getting the hang of the camera, but have turned out so many great photos that I could NEVER get with my Kodak. The HD video is a great feature to have with my growing toddler and my desire to capture her precious moments. The weight is fine for me and doesn’t affect my rating for it’s portability. I’ll be travelling soon, and I am so glad that I chose this over the DSLR because of well portability! Can’t wait to learn how to use this camera at its FULL potential!
